Health and safety when training
Important health information about using Lyfta for your workouts.
Lyfta helps you log workouts, track progress, and follow training routines. It does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Lyfta is not medical advice
The app provides tools to record your training and view exercise demonstrations. It does not:
- Diagnose health conditions
- Prescribe exercises for medical purposes
- Replace guidance from a doctor, physical therapist, or certified trainer
If you have health concerns, injuries, or medical conditions, consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing your exercise routine.
Train safely
- Warm up before lifting and cool down afterward.
- Use proper form. Watch the exercise videos in Lyfta and consider working with a trainer if you're new to lifting.
- Progress gradually. Increasing weight too quickly raises injury risk.
- Listen to your body. Pain (not normal muscle fatigue) is a signal to stop.
- Rest and recover. Muscles need time to repair between sessions.
When to see a doctor
Stop training and seek medical advice if you experience:
- Chest pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath
- Sharp or persistent joint pain
- Numbness or tingling
- An injury that doesn't improve with rest
Age considerations
Lyfta's content is designed for adults and teenagers who can train safely. If you're under 18, consider working with a coach or trainer, and get parental guidance if needed. For age requirements to use the app, see Children's use and age requirements.
Equipment safety
If you train at home or in a gym, ensure your equipment is in good condition and appropriate for the exercise. Use spotters for heavy lifts when needed.
