Lyfta on Apple Watch

Start a workout on your iPhone and follow the same session on Apple Watch, including sets, the rest timer, and heart rate.

The Lyfta app on Apple Watch follows the workout you start on your iPhone. Use it to see the current exercise, mark a set done, and keep the rest timer on your wrist.

Install Lyfta on the Apple Watch, then start the workout on your iPhone. The same session should show on the watch. Log the workout on the phone if the watch and the phone disagree — the iPhone is the copy that gets saved to history.

See heart rate

Lyfta asks you to connect the Apple Watch when it needs heart rate for the session.

  1. Confirm the watch is paired with the iPhone and Lyfta is installed on the watch.
  2. Start the workout on the iPhone and leave both apps open for a moment.
  3. If Lyfta still says to connect the Apple Watch, restart the iPhone and the watch, then start the workout again.

Heart rate still missing? Email support@lyfta.app with the iPhone and watch models. Say whether the watch is paired in Settings and whether the message still says to connect the Apple Watch.

If the watch looks wrong

Finish the set on the iPhone when the watch does not match it. A wrong number on the watch can be saved back to the phone if you confirm the set there.

  • The exercise name is missing and only the rest timer shows.
  • Sets, reps, or weight are a huge number, such as millions, or 0 when the iPhone shows the real weight.
  • The watch app closes or returns to the clock when the rest timer ends. Open Lyfta on the watch again to continue that session.
  • You cannot change weight or reps on the watch. Change them on the iPhone.

Reinstall Lyfta on the watch if the numbers stay wrong after a restart. Do not keep confirming sets on the watch until the exercise name and the set count match the iPhone.

Calories counted twice

Start the workout in Lyfta only. A separate Traditional Strength Training session on the watch stops or overlaps, and Apple Fitness can then count the same lifting twice: once from Lyfta on the iPhone and once from Lyfta on the watch.

Apple Health on the iPhone is the better check. If the workout is listed twice there, email support@lyfta.app with the date of the session. See Connect Lyfta to Apple Health.

Garmin or another watch

This page is the Apple Watch app. A Wear OS watch, including Galaxy Watch and Pixel Watch, has its own app. See Lyfta on Wear OS if the phone is Android.

A Garmin or other watch does not use either app. See Lyfta on Garmin.
