Create and edit a routine

Save a reusable routine, then start it when you train. A finished workout in History stays as you logged it.

A routine is the plan you start from. A workout in History is a session you finished. Editing the routine changes the next session you start. It does not rewrite a workout already in History.

Create a routine

  1. Open the Routines tab.
  2. Tap Create Routine.
  3. Add exercises, and set the target sets and reps.
  4. Save the routine.

The routine then appears when you start a workout. You can also start from the home screen: tap +, select New Workout, and choose the template. See How to log a workout.

Start it, then finish the session

  1. Start the routine.
  2. Log the sets you actually did.
  3. Open Finish Workout and save.

History only includes that finished session. Discarding it does not save the workout, and it does not change the routine.

To put a session on an earlier day, set the date when you finish. See Log a workout from the past.

Change the routine

Edit the routine when you want the next session to start differently. Add, remove, or reorder exercises there.

The workouts already in History keep the exercises, sets, and weights you saved at the time. Change those on the saved workout if you need the old session itself to change.

Import does not bring routines

Import Data copies workout history, not a ready-to-start routine. Rebuild the plan with Create Routine after the history looks right. See Import workouts from another app.

Premium programs you save to your library are a separate plan from a routine you built yourself. See Use Lyfta for free.
